Safe Routes to School  (SRTS)

is not really a 'group', but a national program

promoting safe walking, cycling or wheeling

to school, teaching healthier, self-reliant lifestyles.

Rochester City School District was one of first districts to implement SRTS, with excellent, safe results    (see 2009 Rpt, pdf)

SRTS MAY COME SOON TO SYRACUSE !

A BIG Safe Routes Challenge for Syracuse:

Home to school distance is HIGH, as many choose to bus their kids to another part of the city.

There are reasons for this, which may include perceptions that our city streets are tough,

& parents simply don't want their kids walking there.

CNY Pathways challenges Syracuse residents to reclaim your streets!
